About to conclude a trade-in deal with EVGA for a new 8800GS video card. The cooling systems on these cards looks pretty effective and quietly efficient. Is there anything to be gained by substituting an aftermarket GPU cooler?

I would hold off until there is something that will do a significantly better job. So far reports are that stock cooling is quiet and efficient.

Sure, higher clocks which in turn give better performance. I've got my eye on this beings how I already have a water cooling setup: Click

Of course, the air coolers that come stock with them do the job and I may not overclock my next rig at all. I like doing it, but I think I'll take a break and game more instead of troubleshoot and game. They'll already offer great performance.
