Flashed an Abit KT7 bios to new WZ Final. I powered the system up, backed things up, and it worked. Shut it down, after removing cards to install Windows 2000, the system will only power on for about 2 seconds. I cleared CMOS, and now it will power on for 2 seconds then shut off. Could the power supply be dead? The power supply is a 250W Enlight (EN-8254942 (250W)). Please help me! Thanks.

Are you sure you havent shorted anything. Ie when shorting the bios. ALso whenver you short the bios your atx supply must be unplugged/turned off. If it was plugged in to the mobo and you were running the +5vsb you may have hosed your bios. Whenever shorting the powersupply must be completly off.

Sorry i can't give you the answer you actually want.

I have the Globalwin FOP 38 fan connected through a 3 to 4 pin header so it connects directly to the power supply. It DID work, then when I took the cards out, it will only go on for a second.

Connect your fan to header 1 with the 3 pin plug, your mobo wont turn on if your Fan is connected to the PSU.

It's a 38cfm GLobalwin fan. Will this possibly short out the header? Thanks.

I had a problem kind of like what you are having. The way I fixed it was unplug everything inside the system, (including power supply to motherboard), and then plug it all back in. Also remove your ram and put it back in as well. That seemed to fix the problem for me.

I believe NoreCNN is correct. also within the new bios should be an option to disable that saftey feature so you should be able to reattach your fan to psu supply without system shutting down!
