Good luck man!

Spending time with your kids is very honorable.

I played 10 games of dominoes with my 8 year old last night and a 2 hour scrabble game with the teenager.

Cheers!

Thank you everyone for the replies.

It nice to see the support I am receiving for my decision.

I?ve resolved to fix only my personal cars and those of my family and close friends. I?m going to sell the business to a personal friend in Jackson, MI and send a letter to my customers directing them to his business.

I understand this does little to affect the community here on ATOT but I wanted those few friends I have made to know how my life is changing, hopefully for the better. My marriage is in trouble and my kids are missing me because of all the time I spend away from them. It won?t hurt my income too bad because I have my land development company my brother runs for me to fall back on plus I have my main job to support my family.

I?ll still continue to provide useless car advise on the forums and any PM sent to me. I?m looking forward to the change and hope my life and those around me will only improve from this point on.

Smart move and good luck

Heh, my job wreaks havoc on marriages and nobody is allowed to quit. I couldn't even imagine what the divorce rate is like in the military.

Anyways, good luck :p

Good decision my honorable king and friend. I?m not surprised you made this choice. This is the type of man I depicted you to be. As always, my heart goes out to you, your wife and kids.

Your guild-mate,
Sassy

Congrats!
I just "retired" from the pizza business (wasn't my own though) after 20 years, 8 days. (although I continued to work here and there during the rest of the summer)
It's made a huge difference in my family time, how relaxed I am, etc. I'm not tired on Saturdays because I worked extra hours Fri night. Just the other day, I cleaned out one of our garages and put in a game room for the kids - built a ping pong table, put in a foosball table, etc. I'd never have done it had I worked the evening before at the extra job. Although the little bit of side money would help here and there, I don't worry about it. I'm enjoying life a lot more without it.

Family > Hobby > Money.

You made the right choice, that selling the business to a good friend and spend more time with important things in life.

Who knows, you may get back to it when your life is organized.
