After 15 years, I finally found a screen saver I like.

I use a screensaver called "Turn off the display".

-It actually "saves" the screen by extending the life of the back-lighting and other components by turning them off when not in use.

-It saves electricity, instead of wasting it by pegging CPU and GPU usage at 100% to display some pretty picture when I'm away from the computer and not even looking at the screen
 
I used the one that was a space game, forget it now but came with the flying toaster pack. Now I just use the 3Dtext one with the time display.
 
Thanks OP, this is sweet.

I can't get it to work--anyone know what might be wrong? I get an .exe file when I download the screensaver, then I run it, and it says "Error creating screensaver".

I'm on Vista 64 bit, could that be it?

EDIT- never mind. You have to right click-run as administrator.
