Exactly.

When video is like music and you can pay some reasonable monthly rate for all-you-can-watch from almost any content provider piracy will die out in places where such a service can be created.

The problem is that video content producers refuse to live on those kind of margins after years of making the big bucks with networks ads, so they will have to be broken down before they get their act together.

The same thing happened to a music industry that was addicted to a $16 CD....

Wonder how useful Google is considered as a gateway to usenet groups. I used to post on usenet with and without going through Google. Mostly in political groups. So I'm assuming even today you can still have good discussions on usenet like you can here about whatever topic and get to know the posters and so on.

Well Dejanews did become Google Groups. They combined Usenet with mailing lists and that basically destroyed the old Usenet as we know it.

No kidding. My FreeNAS box does everything for me. All I need to do is "Add a Show," and never touch it again. My shows are downloaded, files are given metadata and named, Plex is updated, and everything just works.
