Afro american movies from the 70's...

i dunno what it is about them..but they're damn entertaining. like those old foxy brown and richard roundtree movies. ive been watchin em on BET for the past few days and i love em. im thinkin about buyin a few but i have no idea where to get em. anyone know of a place? whats some good movies to get?

how many sequels were there to blacula? i saw pam grier at this party in palm springs in '95 or so, and she was still beautiful. i hate watchin movies on tv cause i cant enjoy em. so much stuff is censored it takes away from the movie >:|

<< The age of blacksploitation movies. I thought they were entertaining because they were so bad. >>

im not trying to say they shouldve swept award ceremonies or whatnot..but they were funny.

Super Fly is a classic of the genre.

Blacula is famous (or perhaps infamous...)

I can't imagine the sequel to Blackenstein was good...

Never heard of the others...

did you check out IMDB?

Does Carwash count? I got a real kick out of that movie. I remember a scene from one of these movies where it showed the hero running up 14th Street in Washington DC. Anyone that grew up in this area would recognize the area immediately since it used to be part of DC's "strip" frequented by the Mayor during his Nightowl phase. The guy he is chasing crosses the street and ducks into an alley. As we see the hero follow him we see in the background some nice mountains raising over the city skyline. Only problem is that the closest mountains to DC are 70 miles to the west. I guess the budgets on these movies were not that big but they were pretty entertaining nonetheless. I just wish I could remember the name of this movie though.
