Are there any other ATOT members who like Arena Football? I'm a season ticket holder for the Los Angeles Avengers nad completely love the sport. Every time this time of year comes around, I get totally hooked on Arena Football. I have my own website which is basically an Avengers fansite.

they do decent and get pretty good pub, especially last season when Bon Jovi bought a team. watched parts of a game on TV (NBC i think it was). not bad, it will probably develop as something to watch while there's no nfl on.

That's AF2... minor league Arena Football.

Here's what AFL basically is... take football (American), throw it in basketball/hockey arena, use a half-sized field (50 yards), 8 man football, put walls around the playing field, with an out-of-bounds line a feew inches from the walls, illegalize punting, make the field-goal posts 9 feet wide, with netting to the sides. And you've got yourself an indoor game of fast-paced football which is continuing to get more popular by the year. Roughly 13,000 turned out to the Staples Center for the home-opener, which was a little less than the attendance of the Lakers-Spurs game I went to the night before.

AFL 101

They struck a deal with NBC to televise games the year after the XFL started and folded, and the sport just keeps growing. They struck a deal with Nike to do jerseys and merchandise, Topps to do cards, and EA Sports to make a game... available before next season.
