Cool. How much did Paradigm cost up there?

Panasonic XR-55 + your choice of speakers. I personally only needed two bookshelfs so I bought a pair of Axiom M3Ti's. I will say that for the price I paid the sound quality is excellent.

The speakers came out to $1100 before taxes. It was a pretty good deal I think.

Yeah, that sounds good

yup, I'm happy with the price and performance.

I do have a question regarding playing 2-channel cd audio from a dvd player. I have a PCM/coax audio out going from the dvd player to the receiver.

When I set the receiver to play the music straight without any processing, it sounds fine. But if I select those DSP surround modes, I hear lots of distortion from the rear speakers. I knnow its not the speakers since they sound great when movies (5.1) are being played.

The sound is fine on the fronts.

Could the distortion be due to the dvd player sending 2-channel audio over a digital output? Have you experienced this problem before?

Thanks

Hmm I shall.

Thanks.

I was playing wiht hte different options under "Music". Would it be better to get a dedicated CD player?

Digital from your DVD player should work just fine.

It's actually going to be best if you just leave it on stereo and enjoy it as it was meant to be played.
