AF and AA

I have a 9700 pro at stocks speeds...... well i crank everything up all the way just to check it out, well in splinter cell... it feels like everything is lagged. I dont know the FPS command, but i would think this card could handle it. In CS, when i crank it all up.. it feels the same way, and i cant play with it. Do you know what the reason is? I dont think its FPS... maybe its just how it is? What are some FPS command for BF1942, Splinter cell?

Thanks guys

Resolution? Game settings? Is vsync and trufom disabled?

Remember AA can only be used at 1600 x 1200 or lower.

using 1024x768 dekstop and games... I just used driver cleaner and installed the 3.9's and thing seem to be working a lot better

I'm pretty nub when it comes to the goodies in graphics card, what does vsync and trueform do exactly
Thanks

v-sync matches up your frame rate to your monitor refresh rate. When enabled you will not get massive frame rates (since it is capped by the monitor refresh rate frrequency) but you will get a slightly cleaner picture. Recomend setting this Off until you are happy with the speed, then try it on.

Trueform creates extra triangles on a 'curve' where there was none before (by a process called tesselation) so giving the look for a smoother arc. Games must be written for it (half life + mods) and it creates a huge sap on your resources when enabled. Recommend setting this Off.

With your current CPU+Vcard I would reccomend a monitor resolution of 1280x1024x32 with AF 16x and AA 4x for all games (with all game options at highest). If by some chance you get lag in things like ET, then reduce the AA to 2x.
