AES

Assuming that one could build a machine that could recover a DES key in a second (ie, try 255 keys per second), then it would take that machine approximately 149 thousand-billion (149 trillion) years to crack a 128-bit AES key. To put that into perspective, the universe is believed to be less than 20 billion years old.

I could break that encryption... all I need is a German teenager and a sharpie.

What are you going to do with a German teenager?
What else would you do with a German teenager other than......?

No goddammit. Wasn't it some punk German teen that broke a media giant's CD protection (a data layer on the CD) by drawing a circle over it with a sharpie?

Yes, AES is awesome. Totally replaced 3DES as the industry standard. It's also more comptabile with different processors because it's not dependent on big-endian and little-endian like DES is. Just wait until 1024 bit AES comes out. :Q

Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron? That's what I think of, or is this not an acronym game?

*raises hand* I am lost as well

<joins the club and passes out beers>

I know they're talking about encryption. That's all. 🙁

I am a failure as a geek.

Ah, I have yet to venture into the world of encryption. However, I have made a promise to my self to learn about networking this year.

AES is a very advanced enryption system that is nearly unbreakable, it stands for Advanced Encryption System, or AES.
