and what is wrong with using personal fame to get a point across about poverty stricten africa? Need more people like him reviving interest into politicians regarding this issue, if you think that's a bad thing (with the fan base that listens to him) then you're a very warped individual.

Don't tell me you don't like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Rage Against The Machine, or about any rock band from the late 60s/early 70s?
 
U2 found a certain style - the slow, drawn-out, synthesized pop-song - and made song after song in that mold. Catchy, but cookie-cutter. My vote is for Aerosmith, even though perhaps you could make similar arguments against them.
 
It's fun to watch the kids vote for todays crap pop. 🙂 U2 came out when I was a teenager. They were OK then, not great. Now they are not even a shadow of their own past glory.

Fvck them. I can't stand Bono any more.

Aerosmith for teh win. These guys are real rockers. Drugs, sex, rock'n'roll.
 
Two great bands from different genres aka this poll blows. Your other polls were at least 'genre relative', but this is where you lose me. I like both bands, for different songs and reasons,. but if it's one or the other, I gotta have the U2, as they have more variety and better songs, imho.
