Advise top-tier Skylake Iris laptops

Hi all

Could you advise me models of top-tier laptops somewhat similar to Lenovo P50 but with some differences (if such models exist at all)? I'm interested in both launched and announced products. Price does not matter at this time.

Features I'm looking for:
- one of the following 15W or 28W or 45W Skylake Core i7 or Xeon E3 with Iris or Iris Pro CPUs (P50 is non-Iris)
- at least 1 Thunderbolt 3
- at least 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD (this should be one SSD, not 2*256 in RAID just in case)
- at least 2*8GB RAM
- more than FullHD display
- 3x3 802.11ac Wi-Fi (P50 is 2x2)
- dGPU, size and weight does not matter

Thank you for the help!

The only laptop I personally know of that hit those targets is the Vaio Z with a 28Watt Dual Core for $2400.

Thank you. Noted.

Vaio Z (flip) is one of the nearest to my requirements but AFAIK it does not have Thunderbolt 3 at all (and I need it) and I'm not sure its SSD is NVMe (though some reviews say it is the model number of the SSD provided seems to be AHCI) and Wi-Fi is not 3x3. 🙁

Wait for Apple to refresh the MacBook Pro (possibly in mid-June)? You're likely to get all of that. Apple is one of the few laptop makers that genuinely embraces Iris graphics, so it's one of your best bets.

Yep. This is my best bet atm (currently own top rMBP 15" late 2013). But I want to have backup plan ready in case Apple shows what I don't like. I'm tired of waiting for Apple already, I don't want to spend any more days choosing when/if they release something not worth it or won't release rMBP at all (you never know these days 🙁).

And I would prefer bigger upgradable machine with additional HDD, SSD and RAM slots any time. If only Lenovo P50 had Iris Pro CPU - I would buy it in an instant.

HP is going to add a Xeon E3-1545M option to their Zbook Studio and Zbook 15 G3 lines in a couple of months, which will have Iris Pro. Lenovo is also adding the Xeon E3-1575M to their P70 model soon, however it is a 17 inch laptop.

The Zbook Studio is very similar to a Macbook Pro, but not very known because HP doesn't advertise their workstation models very much to individuals.

Awesome!

Do you have sources for these news? For Lenovo P70 I found out GT4e Xeons are coming since they are strangely mentioned on their Russian website (http://shop.lenovo.com/ru/ru/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/, "Поддержка процессора Intel® Xeon® Z3+ с GT4e") and nowhere else. I am yet to find any announcements about it.

I hope they'll add it to P50 as well. 17" is a little too much for me.

Your welcome. I wouldn't be surprised if Lenovo added an Iris Pro option to the P50 later on. Same goes with the Dell Precision 7510 / 5510.

I was quoted HP Zbook Studio with Iris Pro will be available October 2016. 🙁 Strangely they also said E3-1545M was not declared as available to be ordered, E3-1575M is.

Thats interesting. I am guessing that they intend to release the Iris Pro version without a dedicated GPU, but still keep the dual heatpipe / cooling fan solution. I am curious how close the P580 can get to the M1000M in performance. Sadly though its going to eat TDP from the processor, so unless they unlock the TDP to 55W or something its probably going to perform slower than the E3-1505M + M1000M (which I have right now and is no slouch). It should really do great with battery life, though. I think the M1000M uses a few watts of power even when in "standby" mode with Optimus enabled.
