I want to try serialATA. I know there wont be any difference with standard ATA100/133. But I'm bored.

I have tried 2 SIS648 m/b and was very dissapointed ( Asus and Shuttle ). The Asus unstable, both overclock poorly.

So I need serialATA and decent overclocking ( vCore above 1.7v at least ).

Looking at the Abit IT7 Max2 - specially since it comes with a serialATA adapter for standard drives.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you considered a serial ATA PCI card for the time being? I would hate to invest in a motherboard simply because it incorporates a brand new technology (that currently offers limited increases in speed) for the sole purpose of having it. That is the whole point of making the motherboards modular.
