Topic= I'm a huge RUSH fan.

I?m new here and wondering what you think of my rig, in my sig. I have a 160 sata drive installed with xp pro and a 40-gig storage old ide drive. I?m thinking of adding 1 gig memory for bf2 and possibly one raptor 36gig just for the os and programs.

I?m waiting on AGP cards to come down in price to upgrade my Leadtek 6600gt. Best buy has a X850pros for 250.00 after rebate and a 10.00 credit towards a reserved copy of FEAR.

Would a X850 be worth the expense vs. sticking with my 6600gt and buying more ram? I?m a cs and css addict and bf2 demo looks promising. If the 6800gt ever gets to less than 200.00 that would be nice. Thanks!

oops the ram is xms corsair lol.

Raptor 36GB is worthless junk
The 72GB Raptor is much better. AVOID the 36GB at ALL costs

Don't bother spending on those overpriced RAM
Get Value RAM instead. They are twice as cheap but perform just as great

ROFL, please send me a link to some of those "72GB Raptors".

He is right though, the 36GB's aren't really worth it, the 74GB model is faster. You really won't get anything our of either Raptor though. You should go with a Seagate 7200.8 or maybe a new Hitachi drive. The Raptors don't have the speed advantage they did at their release time, they are overpriced and not worth it now. If you really want a Raptor wait another month or so until the new ones come out.

I would never bother with the 850Pro, it's basically junk. It would be more worth your while to go with a x800xl. The 6600GT will handle BF2 pretty well, I wouldn't bother wasting money on an upgrade, if I were you I would just wait a while and they go with a 7800GT once the prices drop, or upgrade everything you have a later date.
