My son has the 8320 in his running at 4.3 with a gtx770, 8 gigs of ddr 3, and runs fallout 4 at ultra, so I have to say its your gpu NOT your cpu. Also all the rest of his games he has he maxes out as well and runs them all at 1080P. So if you was to pair it with a 970 or better you should be just fine.
