My advice would be to not limit yourself at all with your options. I looked at only my own state's schools all through high school and set my goal on getting into one of them. Now I realize it doesn't fit my career plan (which I've had for awhile) and I'm going out-of-state, and although I am lucky to be on the borderline of admissions I still am locked out of many other universities I may rather go to because I didn't plan on having to be that good (NYU, Northwestern, etc.).

So don't just look in the northeast.. look all across the country and you'll be surprised at what you find. My situation is a bit different as I'm a journalism major and there are far fewer choices for high quality, nationally recognized schools.

Yeah, I've decided I will apply to engineering school, but only for biomed, because I've had my mind set on that for the last many months and I think I will enjoy it.

Hm, I was thinking of MIT too, they have a Biomed minor... so I'd have to take something else as my major if I (on the off chance got in and) went there.
