Okay Im switching from a Abit NF7-S v2.0 and a 2500+ to a New P4P800 and a 2.4c, any advice in making this switch? just pop out old stuff and put it new? do I need to uninstall any drivers before switching etc etc??
I'd do a complete format. If you don't want to do that, then just uninstall everything possible (drivers, hardware in Device Manager) and then hope for the best. A clean install will give you the best results though.
Nuke your C: partition with the windows and progs (nuke D: if your progs are there). Don't nuke personal data partitions (duh) 🙂
BTW, I'm not sure if going to a 2.4c is going to help a lot. Your board should take any AMD K7 processor there is, and you have a 2500+. Run it at 2.2Ghz or something up there and it'll perform like a P4 at 3Ghz.
Man, you need to change your email address, AT ID, and sig. Is Intel really worth it 😉? If anything, upgrade your watercooler to something like a Koolance EXOS or a custom system. IMO Thermaltake is mediocre at best.
I just noticed that, watercooling? Does it help? I thought 2500+ can hit 3200+ on air easily (my bud has a 2500+-->3200+ with a retail AMD sink on his NF7-S V2).
