I have a very old (6 yrs I guess now) dektop and want to upgrade it to the latest gaming world.

Old Configuration
Motherboard : Intel D865GBF for pentium processors.
Processor : x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 3 GenuineIntel ~2793 Mhz (HT)

I don't want to buy a new processor. The hardware that I want to upgrade are Motherboard(without SLI),Video/Graphics Card (GPU), Memory (RAM).

Please advice some hardware. Also whether it is possible to upgarde.

Thanks

Your CPU is a socket 478. You must upgrade it in order to upgrade the other components you've listed.
There's no way around it.

About the only components that make any sense for you to keep are your optical drive and maybe case.
But even those parts are probably not worth messing with.

Some spec/requirements for my new machine :

1. Budget : Rs 30,000 - 35,000
2. Parts needed within targeted budget :
Case
Power Supply (PSU)
Case Fan(s)
Motherboard
Processor (CPU)
Memory (RAM) @ 2GB
Hard Drive (HDD) @ 500GB
Video/Graphics Card (GPU)

3. Tasks :
High End Gaming
Internet/Web Design
Photo/Graphics Editing (e.g. Photoshop, Maya)
4. Reused components : monitor,keyboard, mouse, UPS,Optical Drive

5. Some confusions :
Intel or AMD
Multiple video card setup or not (which is expensive/useful)
Which manufacturer mobo to go for

Asked quite a lot I guess. At least some can be cleared. Thanks.

Any average video card will do a good job for you, running that resolution.

I am planning to replace my monitor with nice LCD in coming months. But now I am looking more for components mentioned. I just saw some reviews and started with

Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-920 Processor (8M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI) ------costing around Rs 15,000
HDD : 500GB (I think buy one with low price, may use my previous one SATA)
RAM : 3 GB (low price, advice frequency....)
MOBO : A very big confusion to decide always... advice needed
Video/Graphics Card (GPU) : nvidia but no idea which one.
Case : old was a local case. Advice some case which can handle the processor and nice GPU heat.

Just want that can play most of the latest games with full settings on.

You definitely don't want to blow 1/2 of your budget on a CPU. Look into the AMD Athlon II and Phenom II quad cores. Pair that with a reasonable (~$100) AMD 870 or 770 mobo, 4GB of RAM, and a GTX 460 1GB.

Perhaps you should link to a local vendors website, because 35k rupees at local prices may not get you quite the same as 728 USD worth of newegg priced hardware.

An i5-750 is basically the best price/performance available for Intel-based gaming. But its going to make it difficult to fit everything else in because the processor itself is so much more expensive than an AMD processor and the motherboards for Intel cost significantly more as well.

Take a look at the second post in this thread, although the original poster has different purposes for his computer, the setup itself is pretty close to what you're looking for both in design and budget. The comments don't really apply to you though.

For gaming, you're looking for a good GPU and a good-enough CPU; in that case I think the GTX 460 1GB and the Athlon II X4 is a great match.

However, the 460 is much more powerful than your current monitor needs, so depending on how soon you plan on getting a new display you might be better off getting a cheaper video card now.

just curious for heating for AMD. As the tower will be in normal room temperature (35-45 degree Celsius).

 This is advice that all gamers on a budget should take to heart.

The i5 750 and x4 640 are both 95W TDP chips, so the heat output should be similar. I agree with Darke that an Intel chip will be very hard to fit into your budget alongside a decent gaming GPU.

With such a low resolution there is a temptation to cheap out on the video card (5750 512MB or GTS250[as OP is unlikely to find a 450 yet]).

But the gains from having a powerful graphics card for gaming are so great, that OP really should spec out an AMD X4 build with the best graphics card he can afford to go with his future monitor (LCD 1920x1080?).

This is good, except if you can get an AM3 870 series motherboard instead. It has USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/Sec.

This probably goes without saying but aside from the AMD processor those other choices are more of a guideline than a rule; the motherboard doesn't 'have to be' MSI, the 460 doesn't 'have to be' MSI, and the RAM is basically going to be whatever is convenient for you. Admittedly a 400CX is basically the ideal PSU for you though :D

Just don't stress if you can't find exactly the components we recommend, and if you can give us an idea of what companies/products are available to you we can give you some more concrete recommendations.
