i like my lg, but its reception isn't always the greatest
the samsung a500 is highly regarded, and is on sale at bb for 199, so that might help?

In your price range, your best bet is probably the Sanyo 8100. Best bang for the buck. Has everything you need and more. As far as reception, it's great. I am getting reception at places that I never got before I switch to it.

check out the sprint store. not sure, but the sanyo 5300 over the past weekend was $149. also got a $25 credit and $36 activation fee waived for getting $36 worth of accessories.

are you asking how the reception is on the 8100 compared to the 4900? i don't have the 4900 before so i can't make a comparision. but, from what i've heard the 8100 is the same if not better.

yep, because i've got the 4100 now, thinking of switching if there ever comes a hot deal on the 8100 and i get some extra cash.

The 8100 seems to be popular on sprintusers.com.

I personally prefer the candy bar style phones and I'm considering replacing my present phone with the Nokia 3585i.

I think the consensus is the 4900 has slightly better reception then the 8100. I would say that in 99% of situations you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. That said, I love my 5300.
