As for location --- I have visited each and every one of the cities, but I spent most of the time on the campus. The exception is Emory, because I've been to the Atlanta area many times and am a little familiar with it.

As for major --- I want to major in a life science with a second major or a minor is business/management. I want to do pre-med and possibly do a research internship at the college or a local institute (an example is CDC at Emory).

It'd also be cool if people kinda explained their ideas instead of just saying "Go to Evanston" or "not Atlanta."

Then again .. this is ATOT ... 😛

i would say you can't really go wrong with NU. Hard to get in to and I can't think of any bad things to say about it.

except maybe that you may not want to stray too far from campus. there are some pretty bad spots in evanston, and desptite what everyone is saying about chicago, your not really 'in' chicago. You will need to get on a highway for about 20 min. before you're in the "the city."

Well I ended up going to NU. The only thing that sucks is weather, but you will get over that soon if you choose Chicago. I am biased but I would also say go to NU if you have that choice. Chicago is one of the best cities to be in, and Evanston is only a train ride away. However, pre-med is rough at any school, but at NU it's probably more competitive than average. Lastly, you might regret leaving California more than you think, I still live in Chicago and I love it, but I wouldn't hesitate for a second if I had solid opportunity to move back to SoCal.

The bad spots are pretty much outside of Evanston proper. The city around the college is very nice.

Chicago is a short train ride away by Metra or the CTA.
