I am fast becoming a Norton Anti-Virus hater. For as much as I pay those jerks they make it impossible to contact them if you have a problem. Is McAfee any better? Any other ideas? I would prefer to stick with a commercial product as I am too lazy to remind myself to get updated.

Thanks, Bill

After using EZTrust Antivirus for a couple years, I recently switched to Antivir and have been impressed with it so far. It consumes minimal resources and works well as stand alone (I don't use realtime protection).

I would go with avast or antivir personally. There is no reason to pay for a antivirus unless you are a buisness.

McAfee stinks - they are our corp AV software and they are usually the last to update stuff...stay away!

i like AVG a lot, and it's free. So is Avast, which is also free, and I'm using that one because it's the only one so far that works with Windows x64

Thanks Folks. I need to go with a suite which includes a software firewall, antivirus, antispam and antispyware. I have heard good things about McAfee. I should have mentioned it before but this is for my home PC. Thanks, Bill
