A year ago, I built the following system starting with a Shuttle barebones system:
Shuttle SG31G2S BLACK
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 800
WD 640GB 7200 RPM
Everything else is stock, including the GPU. Lately, I've been doing some light editing work with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 with 1080p video segments. The preview pane of Sony Vegas rarely keeps up and the computer struggles to render.
Bearing in mind that I am a building novice, can someone please recommend a powerful GPU that I can throw in here? I only need single DVI out (it wouldn't hurt to have HDMI should I need it in the future). My budget is at or about $100. Any advice would be appreciated.
