Advice on Upgrades to DFI Lanparty on Budget

I have-
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Socket 939 NV
Athlon 64 3000+ (Venice) Socket 939 1.8ghz or so
7800 GT OC

I want to upgrade to play Spore now (at least 2ghz), WoW's Wrath of the Lich King when it comes out, Diablo 3, and the SIMS 3 when they come out.
I am low on cash.

My system supposedly has 2gigs RAM but only shows 1.
I figured I could give it another gig of RAM, it can't really use more than 3, can it?

I also thought another way to get a good quick boost was to change the processor to -
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Processor S939 San Diego 2.2GHZ 1MB L2 Cache 90NM E6

Should I look at other cheaper processors?

Buy the dual core Opteron from Big Lar and reseat your memory modules.

Either do what Blain says, or saave up until you've got around $500 then buy new stuff.

Still, it's a single core.
Buy Larry's dual core Opteron and reseat your memory (to get both sticks working).
