Another year has past and time to upgrade again....This time I am torn between a P4 3.2 or AMD 3000-3400 64bit...Mobo, Probably the P4C800 E- Deluxe, since I have not had any problems with it. Dunno about Mobo for AMD. Also will need FAST Memory, also. Now I think I need a more powerful PS unit, since I have 2 DVD drives and 6-8 HD's that I will require. Any ideas are appreciated and money s not a big issue here also .

Thanks fellas.

if you wanna keep the board, go for a 3.0C... i think it's a better value and should be able hit the same or a little lower than a 3.2C.

in terms of mobo's for A64's.... I recommend the shuttle AN50R. It's not too expensive and has lots of nice features and such that'll fit your needs.. i think :) and for a processor, I'd go with the 3200+ or the 3400+.... both those chips are pretty sweet!

I say if you're gonna stay with P4's, you'll want to stay with the Enermax brand. They're pretty much the top psu for Pentiums, because they have such a strong 12v rail. Enermax makes a 550watt (this model), which should be enough for you, I would think.

Hmm. well if money isn't any object would you consider a prometia?:) How much overclocking do you want to do? What type of cooling will you be using?

P4C800-E is a great board but my personal preference would be an Abit IC7-G or Max 3. I run an Antec 480 and it has plenty of headroom to handle the number drives your talking about - unless you try switching to all 15K RPM SCSI drives.

I like Corsair memory but there are a couple others out there. Their PRO series is certainly the best looking for a window case. They do have one of the best reps but are a bit higher in price. I have found OCZ to be a bit hit or miss in quality and don't use them anymore though others have had success with them. Mushkin is very good too. There are several offerings at PC4000 and up to run at high FSB and 1:1 mem dividers.

I may consider OC them a bit but not much, I guess I will probably go with the P4 3.0C and Asus P4C800E. Not sure about the Memory, will I need identical memory modules in order to take advantage of the mobo specs? I will assume I will spend about 200-300 for 1-1.5GB which I need for Photoshop and graphics. I think I will also do the Enermax 550 and Antec case, since I am using one now.

Thanks
