here are the parts i'm thinking about getting:

Enermax PS 350 watt
Taisol CGK760092
Panaflo 80 mm fans

Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
ATI Radeon LE
EPoX EP-8K7A
Athlon 1.33
IBM 60GXP 40GB

little or no overclocking, mostly for use with win2k, maybe some 98 or linux.
Moderate amount of gaming. Not planning on DVD. I already have 512 MB of Crucial PC2100, and a Plextor 12/10/32A, Zip 100, Samsung 955DF.

Is there anything majorly wrong with this setup? driver conflicts? that sort of thing. I'm trying to keep things relatively inexpensive, and quiet too.

that Radeon won't perform very well for gaming in Win2K...plus you'll have to overclock it anyways to get any performance that might be desireable in 98 or me

well, with the exception of the LE. I was planning on overclocking that. I thought the 2k drivers for the radeon were much better now. I'm leaning towards the radeon becuase it's cheap, and it has good 2d quality, which is important to me. and after overclocking it, it should perform pretty good right?

Get a GeForce2-Pro or a GeForce3, looks like you can afford it judging by the rest of that hardware..

ya really.... GeForce2-Pro would be the best for a system as such. the debate over which 2d looks better is null to me. to me it is the monitor that really counts when it comes to 2d
