Going to build a puter for son and taking this out of my existing computer:

Windchester 3500
MSI Neo plat ultra
1 gig of ocz 3200 platinum
soundblaster gamer sound card
bfg 6800 ultra

This setup was running with a PCP turbo 510...with 2 200 gig hdd's. If I move it to another computer with 2 300 gig hdd and with a burner will this 430 PSU

have enough to run everything?

Well aware that the psu is critical to overall performance but son is trying to be finacially conscious here.

thanks for your responses....

Yes. You should be fine. I'm running more than that an an Antec 380w. No problems for 6 mo.'s or so since I added the dual core.

Should make a nice rig!

I would say that should be fine...

I've been running a 380w antec truepower with no problems in a similar rig for a long time:

Venice 3000(running at 2.3ghz)
gigabyte k8ns
2gig hynix 3200
evga 6800gt
nec 3500a burner
2x 160gb hdd
2x 120mm fans

Sonata owners unite! :)

Just got my sonata 2 and I ordered a 550w neoHE for it to power an upcoming c2d build. Gonna pass my trusty sonata 1 system above to my father once I get the new one built.

Yes, that power supply will be more than adequate. By the way, that's great price for my favorite case! I recently bought the Antec Solo and paid $89.99 with no PSU included.
