Suprisingly it's one of the better complexes I've lived in. They fix stuff right away, rooms are big, central air, rent is decent, only have to pay electric and it's in a safe area.

You actually need to be referred to live here and must have a decent job. But most of my neighbors are senior citizens.
Weird thing was you weren't allowed to view the place until you applied and were approved.

Sounds great! Some uptight geezer got a moment of alzheimer's free clarity. They suddenly remember how your noisy motorized bicycle disturbed their medication induced coma. You appeared to be having a bit too much fun so their revenge is best served up frosty cold.

Nothing in the original lease I signed says a vehicle has to be driven x amount of days out of a week or etc. Maybe they have altered the lease now, but I was not asked to sign a new one.

I understand they don't have parking spaces to accomodate all the cars people have, but if that is the case they must explicitly define what can and can't be parked in the lot.

sounds like they need to pony up to have some snow hauled away

tell them you'll go to the hassle of setting up a place to store it, but you expect some rent compensation while they deal with the snow issues

Well I put the charged battery in it and rode it to my gf's. It wasn't as cold as I expected even though it was 20F.

Stalled out a bunch of times and I thought it wasn't gonna start again but I had to hold the starter button and give the throttle a whirl. When I arrived I shut it off, then left it for 2 hours, turned it on again and it fired right back up.

Most bikes don't like running in cold weather, especially carb'd bikes that have been sitting for 6 months or longer.

You should have just wheeled it into your livingroom.

The 2005 sv650s is fuel injected. I live on the second floor and the stairs aren't wide enough. Will have to get it tuned up in spring. It kept the engine temp around 150-170 degrees even though it was cold out.

Sucks keeping great bikes like that outside during the winter. How long since you started it prior to this?

I loved my '08 SV650. Such a great bike.

Really? None of my bikes ever had trouble running in cold weather, even back in the 80's. Here in Michigan I often rode into November in below freezing weather, as long as there was no snow yet.

I would say I last rode it in December, before it started to snow. It needs to warm up outside so I can take it to shop and have the stalling issue looked at.

I'll be in second or third gear, and it will just cut off. Might have something to do with the throttle, although it's smooth and seems to operate fine.

The one day I came home and found it laying down on the right side, the right bar end was messed up and a little bent. So I took it off, pulled the grip forward to match and placed the bar end back on. Not sure if this has anything to do with the stalling.

Those bikes sometimes get water in the front cylinder plug and foul so your SV650 will suddenly become an SV325 and run like crap. I'd check the front plug first.

Yeah I'll change the spark plugs as soon as it gets warmer out. My stand is over at my friend's garage. Will have to get hold of him in case I need it. He has a cbr600 and we usually go riding every weekend when its nice out.

Well I did have to let them warm up a little before taking off. Water cooled engines should run at roughly the same temperature once warmed up, whether it's 30 degrees or 80 degrees. Never had any trouble with cars in the winter either.

Yea my sv seems to warm up to 120 degrees quickly. While riding it goes up to 150-170 sometimes higher If sitting in traffic. Once you get going it drops.

I was going to replace my radiator due to a slight moisture leak on one corner, some antifreeze comes out but it's not constant. Happens randomly and then usually stops. But my frame slider bolt on the left side seems stripped so I can't get that fairing off.

Do you have plates on it and is the registration valid? Inspected?

Then get a battery, run the dam thing, and move it to a new spot and call them on their shit. The only time I've seen this sort of thing enforced is when the vehicle is not registered, or not with plates.

The rub there is that you are now in a month to month lease, so they have you by the balls... and can simply tell you to pack up.

Yeah it's registered and has plates, it runs fine now except for the stalling since it hasn't been ridden in 2 months. Probably needs a tune up.

I plan on bringing it back in the spring. That way I'll take it out and ride it every other day. I may even park it on the street right next to the complex. They have apartments across the street with garages but none that are available. That would be great since I could work on the bike, my car, without having to go to my friend's house to do maintenance.

But yea like you mentioned since my lease ended, they don't require you to sign another lease so any push back could have me kicked out in 30 days which financially would suck right now.

If they updated their terms they should have notified tenants, but since everyone who's lease ends is not required to renew then I guess they don't have to do that.

The only people they don't bother is the 80% of the old people that have been living here.
