...a used 27" Sony Vega flat screen?

My friend has 2, and says he'll sell me one. I want it for under 200. Is that reasonable?

Edit: I didn't know they made 26 inch tvs??
Yeah, thats why i chaged it...

They come in 26''? I always thought it was 27'' hehe, either way... under 200 would be a great, and to answer your question: Yes I do believe that it is a reasonable offer... I would go for 150... however since he's your friend I'd ask him for it "FREE"!!

how old is it? make an offer dependant on that, and condition of course. just lowball until he accepts.

thats good advice shimsham.

Its a little over a year, and he hardly used it, so its in good condition.

I think i will just bug him and bug him at 175 until he agrees.

Ignore what everyone else said.

Ask him what he wants for it. The first person to quote a number in negotiations loses. Once he says his number, you will know whether your 125 offer will fly.

how much did he pay new?

just be sure that you both get a good deal, so no one has any lingering grudges.

Friend or no. Someone has to go first. Doesn't mean he has to negotiate him into the ground, but he still needs to know where he stands.

Low ball him first at $150 then work your way up to $175 at which point he'll hopefully agree.

If you can negotiate in person with a fistful of cash that helps also.

yeah thats a good idea.
the cash right there in your hand might be too much to resist.
dont let him how much cash you have on you though.
whip out 150 in cash first.

I like the cash idea, hes the kind of guy how would just take the cash right then and there. I looked on the internet, and the cheapest i found for a new one is 330, so half that for used is about 175. Thats my bargain chip right there.

there won't be any grudges, its not that big of a deal to either of us.

That's my way of thinking and it usually works. Showing him the cash in person just seals the deal and it's too hard to resist.

He could either have $150 cash or just let the TV sit there being unused and unloved.
