I would definitely go with Ryzen.

I'd still try to find a surplus or used socket 1155 motherboard with a Z68 or Z77 chipset. I'd even consider a price-tag up to $100. Less is better, of course. But you could then start saving money for the latest parts of a new system. And you could hold off pulling the string for the new system as long as you'd like.
