hi guys/gals, i need advice.. my cingular contract is up in 2 weeks and want to either stay on it, or switch to other providers.. here is what i come out with each carrier.. please help me out with reception and your experiences.

Cingular pros: most ppl use cingular, so free m2m and short msging is good..
Cingular cons: really bad reception in my area (san gabriel/pasadena), system busy all the time

SprintPCS pros: cool color-screen Sanyo phone.. AIM on phones
SprintPCS cons: expensive phones.. most ppl have cingular so no m2m and can't msg cingular ppl

Verizon pros: wireless web, maybe better reception than cingular
Verizon cons: again, most ppl have cingular so no m2m and can't msg cingular ppl

AT&T pros: AIM on phones, better reception than cingular
AT&T cons: again, most ppl have cingular so no m2m and can't msg cingular ppl

Nextel pros: best reception for sure, private call
Nextel cons: expensive plans.. private call no use if no one has nextel.. big phones (even the new i90)

HELP!!!!!!!! thanks

that messaging featuree will be fixed soon. So far AT&T is working on it. I know their messaging feature works cause i use it but i am not sure if it can send to other carriers. Last I checked they said April/May to get it working.

Cingular pros: None. They suck.
Cingular cons: Horrible reception all over LA area, no one with half a brain uses it.

Sprint pros: Fantastic reception, awesome phones. Yearly plan NOT a requirement. Will be first with 3G service this summer.
Sprint cons: No SMS messaging.

Verizon pros: None. They suck.
Verizon cons: Horrible reception.

AT&T pros: Great reception, great phones.
AT&T cons: No SMS messaging. Phones not as kick ass as Sprint ;)

Nextel: Only good for multiple business users. Way too expensive for single person use. Phones bulky.

It's not a miracle to be able to exchange messages between providers. :D

GSM is the key. AT&T is slowly migrating and will eventually be 100% GSM.

I've had Sprint, Cingular and Verizon in LA.

Cingular has the best plans, but Verizon has really good plans right now too.
Sprint probably has the worst plans, but decent reception.
Cingular has worst reception.

I like Verizon the best because I have great reception, the plans are pretty good, and the phones are so kewl! :)
