Life is not fair. Get use to it.

The real world doesn't care about your self-esteem as much as your teachers.

You'll never make $40,000 a year right out of high school.

Flipping burgers is not beneath you.

It's not your parent's fault if you screw up.

In some schools, you're given as many times as you want to get the answer right. Standards are set low enough so everyone can meet them. This, of course, bears not the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

It's not your parent's fault if you screw up.... and therefore your parent's don't get any of the credit for your success. So don't thank them when you get your Oscar.

Maturity comes with experience. And experience comes with time.


Just as a note. Just because your car can actually make it above 100 without a problem,
doesn't mean 100 mph isn't fast.
