So I'm taking a trip to Europe for about 6 weeks this summer and I'm wondering where I should fly into. The options are basically Paris, Rome, Milan or Athens - What city do you think would be good for a first time backpacker to start in?

Also, any advice for Eurail? I was thinking of getting the global pass (10 days over 2 months), but I'm a bit confused about the reservations bit. Some sites seem to say that reservations, when you need them, are only a few Euros, but the Eurail site seems to be waaaay above that. Should I get a pass but make my reservations along the way in Europe? Or should I just get my tickets as I need them? I'm under 26, so I qualify for the Youth rate.

What do I do?!?

TIA!

Go to Chamonix and climb some mountains. They only look steep from the bottom, once your on them its just a simple matter of walking to the top. Trust me, it's easy.
