I would stay away from the Crucial Ballistix line of memory.
A better option would be Corsair, G.Skill or Mushkin PC2-6400 rated to run at the JEDEC DDR2 voltage standard of 1.8-1.9v
Is it because of randomly dying ram sticks? I've had my set of ballistix ram for over 2 years now, and no problems, but then again, I left them at stock speeds and timings, ddr2-800 5-5-5-18. Although, I have taken them to ddr2-1066 during a test, lax timings at 2.1V.

changed gpu to MSI R4850-2D512-OC Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

i think you're ready to buy. If you say you are interested in trying overclocking, what are your goals exactly? 3.0-3.2 GHz is likely going to be achievable without requiring you to spend time doing trial and error with voltages. I would spend about $30-35 on a heatsink because quad cores do get hot, whether they are at 2.6 or 3.6.

Ok.. for the final time (hopefully) heres the config... let me know if I can hit that buy button I am holding since yesterday 😉
