I have a T68 with AT&T and the reception is poor. So, I decided to get one of the best phones for RF capability, the Ericsson R520.

Here are the pics: pic1 pic2

The problem is that I'm 22, and my ego is still a big factor in my life and the T68 is a better looking phone than the R520. Yet, the reception is better with the R520.

If you were in my situation, which phone would you use?

I don't tie my self worth to the way a phone looks, so I'd go with the one that has better reception.

keep the one w/ better reception. no matter how cool a phone looks, you're going to hate it when you drop calls or can't even make one.

Yes, I think either the 720 or S46 would be good... but the reason I got the R520 was because it was cheap... $80 new and factory unlocked. The S46 and 720 are both pretty expensive.

If you hang around people who judge you by how cool your phone looks, then you need new friends.

Hell, even complete strangers don't really give a sh1t about what phone you use, trust me.

depending on how long you have had your phone they arent too bad...generally $100 for the s46 and $149 (AR) for the T720

I have found Sony/Ericson phones in general to have terrible navigation and quality. Why don't you look at other brands?

from experience, they dont get the best reception and they lock up alot, but they do give you cool features...its a trade...I actually have 3 phones that I use on a regular basis, (just swap the sim and go) the siemens for reception, the T720 for looks, and a nokia 6310i that has pretty good reception, looks ok, but has sweet features (bluetooth anyone?)...trying to get my hands on the new panasonic GU-87...thats a bad bad bad bad bad azz phone

How does the saying go?

You wouldn't worry so much about how other people think of you, if you only knew how little they did?

Little? Often? Bleh, I can't remember. You get the idea. :D

well it's not only a matter of "looking cool." i have the sony ericsson t68i (very similiar to yours) and what i like best about it is it's size. i can stick that tiny thing in my pocket and not even feel that it's there. with my last phone i'd always have to where cargo pants/shorts so that i could stick the phone in my cargo pocket. :|

btw, i'm using it on the tmobile network, and the reception i get is comparable to what my friends get on other phones.

yeah the R520 is so long that if I put it in my pants pocket and sit down, I'm afraid it might snap in half. The t68 is very small and handy.
