Adverse effects of 3.1 firmware on iPhone 3G (not 3GS)?

does any one else's iPhone 3G feel more sluggish after upgrading to 3.1?

for me, it seems there is noticable lag when trying to just unlock my phone. after turning on the screen, the slider for the "slide to unlock" lags either at the beginning when trying to move it or at the end of the slide motion when it transitions from the locked screen to the home screen.

it doesn't help even if I restart the iPhone.

Was going to suggest the same, and make sure not to restore from backup. Set it up as a new phone and it should be just as speedy.
