Well, I just looked up some games in old game sites (not sure if it's allowed to post their name and link here) and just felt sad how adventure gaming died.
There are no more witty and funny games like Sam and Max, LSL (except the last one which SUCKED), Day of the tentacle, The Dig, Full Throttle, Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, King/Queen/Space/Police Quest,Zork,Indiana Jones,Simon the sorcerer and Grim Fandango (Maybe DiscWorld, I heared they're good but I only played one of them for 10 minutes) games have all died. Most games today are either fighting games FPSs or RTSs and basically except 2-3 games in the last 6 years or so (like the excellent The Longest Journey, and even that game is OLD) there haven't been any good(or any at all) old style puzzle adventures.
This may be just me but don't you guys miss the old Adventure games? This isn't even about me thinking about old games, just that they don't make em the same any more. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy COD2, or HL2, or any other FPSs, or games like Rome or Civ4, but I think that companies (and LucasArts should be burned after they cancelled Sam and Max2 and Full Throttle 2) should make more old school (even point-n-click, altho Grim Fandango was nice, but MI4 Sucked...) adventure games.
Don't you guys miss the those games? Or am I just getting older and there are tons of adventure games (not like Zelda, which I love, but more inventory based) that I'm missing (Please give me names, I'll look em up)?
