Advantages of 19" over 17" LCD?

Since a 17" and a 19" LCD display do the same resolution, is there really any advantage of going with a 19"? Any drawbacks?

The advantage of a 19" over a 17" with the same resolution is that the images are larger and easier to see in native resolution. You never want to use anything but native resolution or your image quality will degrade drastically. Also, the larger pixel size may keep you from having to change to larger icons. The only drawback I can think of is cost.

Hmmmm....Lets see....The advantages.......ummm...:Q Oh! I know, the 19 " is bigger!!!!! 😀 Sorry, but really, thats the only, and most important advantage of a 19 ". I have a 19" and I love it, I recommend anyone getting on for themselves!

actually, you know whats funny? Ive always ran my LCD @ 1024 by 768....How odd 😛...So then I switched it to the 1280 one, and I looked all ugly.....I wonder, is it cause my monitor it streching itself to 1024? Will I get a performance increase if I do switch it? Thanks 😀

It depends on what the native resolution of your LCD is. Whatever it is, run it at that.

I receintly bought both a 17 and 19 and like the 19 a whole lot more. On the 17 I'm forced to keep my face very close to the monitor but on the 19 I can just sit back because everything is larger. Adjusting icon size doesn't help much.
