Advanced Format Samsung F4 HD204UI with Windows 7

I just got one of those 2TB drivers and now i need help how properly install it.
I use Windows 7 and drive will be one partition (only for data stare not OS).
Should i use win7 for formatting (Storage/Disk Management?). Do I need Advanced Format Alignment Tool: http://www.samsung.com/global/busine...namitedata.com

Is there a difference if i decide later to have more than one partition?

Should I use quick format?

Thanks for help.

All the best in 2011!

You don't need to do anything special under Windows Vista or Windows 7; format it as you please. Only Windows XP requires the use of any special tools/settings.

Welcome, mikola! How's the weather in EU?

ViRGE, if you format the drive thus with Windows 7, can you then move it to an XP system?

Sure. The only reason XP has a problem is because it tries to create unaligned partitions. If you create an aligned partition elsewhere, then XP is fine so long as you don't let it create/move any further partitions.

It's cold -5 during day and yesterday we had some snow.

@ViRGE
I installed it, formatted (full format) and used it. Worked like charm. For me HD204UI is quicker than old HD103UJ :thumbsup:
