Seriously though, they play off awkward situations, plot-less nonsense, and sound effects that don;t last long.


I still like ATHF however because it DOES invlove an elite New Jersey Detective squad consisting of a young meat ball, a conservative thing of fries, and an immature milkshake, not to mention their neighbor Carl.

..and those mooninities..other than that, it is not as far off as one might think from being as crappy as sealab and everything else.

Futurama is just the best. Comedy, drama, suspense, satire, and of course, coherent plots, make for great TV.

Like I wrote, it borders on crap, but manages to rise above the level of "crap." It's sort of a "running-gag" for mat they got going so you'd have to watch it frequently to understand it at all.

Adult Swim was awesome back in the day (a few years ago)... like ATHF(1-15), Sealab(1-15), Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Brak Show (1-15).

It's like after the 2nd season of each, they just hit an idea wall and started pumping out crap.

Oh well, the originals will always be funny. I have them on DVD and they are always good to pop in when you are bored and want to laugh.

Yeah... uh you don't really know much about anime do you? Putting the stuff that's on late night during the day would be the dumbest move in history. Most of the anime they show is TV-MA. For some reason I don't think parents would be too keen on that, since the daytime is for kids.

Yeah... uh, I used to be pretty heavy into anime actually. I got the entire Bebop/Evangelion dvd sets, plus a bunch of movies etc. I bought them while in HS though, and since then I guess my tastes have matured (to Aqua Teen, yea I know 😛). Seriously though, the anime they put on there is the biggest turn off for everyone I know that watches Adult Swim (which is almost everyone I know 😀). I'm sure a lot of you like it, but I'm just saying that Cartoon network has done such a great job with the whole concept of Adult Swim, it sucks to see them mar it with some crappy anime shows. I mean it is the perfect stoner channel, but no pot head wants to sit around watching bug eyed crappily animated cartoon chicks yell INUMASHAAA OY!. We want off the wall funny sh!t, you know the stuff that the rest of Adult Swim is modeled after. Put the anime in its own block, like around 3 pm when all the junior high/high school kids get home.

You aren't getting the fact that the anime they show at the late hours is not appropriate for most people who would watch the cartoon network during the afternoon. Why not put an uncensored showgirls on saturday at 9am for the high school males that are just waking up while we are at it? Makes no sense. Inuyahsa is not the only anime they show, though it does seem like it sometimes.

Also sometimes the funny shows are on after the stupid anime too. I guess I see where you are coming from. I would say that they should just have certain nights be anime and certain be not anime. I think saturday is already such a night.

This is pretty much how networks work in general, though. Take NBC thursdays. 2-4 funny shows followed by 1-2 serious shows.

Since I Tivo anything I want to watch on the toon network, it doesn't really matter to me personally.

I agree that the current lineup isn't all that great but that is why man invented Tivo...and then DirecTivo...so he can record the shows he wants without staying up all night.

It'll be hard to recreate the success Adult Swim had when they initially started showing Futurama, the Family Guy, and Cowboy BeBop. Those shows are in their six or seventh run now. You can tell they are desperate to get something new on with all the crap they are throwing out and hoping it clicks.
