I am getting an ADSL connection this month and I have a dilema on which modem to get. There are only two ADSL modem models:
Alcatel Speed Touch which can be bought from the service provider.
Samsung AHT-N120 which can be bought by the user.
The Alcatel modem is an external modem which is connected to a 100Mbit NIC, and the Samsung is an internal PCI ADSL card. These modems have similar price so the price is not an issue here.
I also know the alcatel modem might have speed limitation built on it by the service provider. Has anyone here had an experience with the samsung modem or know whether their pc peraphiles are any good?

thanks a head.

Who is your provider? ONLY two modems work w/ the ADSL?? I find that hard to believe.

try to get a pci modem to save some cpu cycles.
I'm using the alcatel pci modem with no worries.
for what I'm hearing if you have a via chipset board then there's a 10% chance you'll run into usb problems unless you use a pci usb card for the alcatel usb modem!
