ADSL modem and WAP on separate networks - help?

Liquidity

Hi everyone, I have an old ADSL modem and the wireless has died on it, so I bought a new WAP and hooked it up. There are a couple of clients connected to the ADSL modem/router, and the wireless clients are connected to the WAP. They're on different networks, so they can't talk to each other (e.g. my wired desktop can't talk to my wireless printer). Is there a different way to configure it, or is there some other way to have them all talk to each other? I made a picture of my network to help clarify. Thanks in advance!

Yes sir, you can get them all on the same network by setting up the new router as a WAP instead of a router:

http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

Basically, you assign it a static IP (192.168.1.x, 255.255.255.0, default gateway is IP of ADSL modem probably 192.168.1.1)on the same network that the modem/router (ADSL device) combo is giving out (and NOT in the same IP range as the DHCP pool). typically the DHCP range would be 192.168.1.100-.150, but that's something you need to check on the ADSl device.

So once you have a static IP setup on the new device, you login to it and turn off DHCP, Firewall, etc...setup the wireless settings (already done basically).

Plug in the cable from the ADSL to a LAN port on the WAP, not the WAN port.

You now have a WAP, and you can still use the three ports on the WAP for hardwired devices.
