Ads spawning popups...

Whenever I click a link on the forums (over the past hour or so), I've been getting a popup from http://a.tribalfusion.com.

This is on Linux and OS X, so it's not spyware/adware.

I have gotten 2 fullscreen - click to skip ads. Is this an Anandtech choice or a rogue advertiser?

Geeeeez, i'm pissed off now!! I'm thinking my computer has infections or something and i don't, it's this site....so i scan for spyware and of course find nothing and i'm only getting pop-ups on here.

I don't mind the ad banners on the top, bottom, and side. But popups are a huge annoyance and get in the way.

*EDIT* ok, the really extremely flashy ad banner at the bottom screaming "WINNER" at me is pretty annoying and giving me seizures.... The popup might not be as bad because at least I click that away...

HP printer ad with a count down timer to skip the ad keeps popping up taking over the whole screen.

Someone's listening. Have the popups stopped for everyone else?

If so, no more need for the mob.

I had thought for sure i was infected or something, my whole screen was taken up by an ad that i had to press skip to. Weird, but i guess someone is listening as the bottom ads are removed...yay!

Try a refresh, or close the browser and re-open. The ads have stopped for me as well.

Speaking of ad content, I just got cycled in a banner for Match.com or something along those lines with some woman in a matching leopard-print bra-and-panty set.

I mean, come on. That should only trigger if a user posts a thread in Off-Topic with "YAGT" in the title. :laugh:
