Question Adoption fail - New to this (audio engineer setting up Dante), UniFi USW Pro Max 16

Hello there, completely new to the world of servers via the need/want of setting up a Dante AoIP system (as well as rtpMIDI).

Problem:

I installed the UniFi Network Controller, plugged in the USW Pro Max 16 - it is indeed found by the software, but clicking 'Adopt' doesn't work... 'Connection Interrupted'.

Tried resetting the USW Pro Max 16, no change. Tried a couple different cables. OS, Bios, Drivers all updated.

Thanks for any tips for this server network rookie..

Setup:

Windows 11 built on a ASUS ProArt Z790 Creator with 2.5g and 10g ports, Intel i9 13900ks.

I'm plugging in the USW Pro Max 16 directly into the Digital Audio Workstations (computer) 2.5g and managing it from there (for now).

Plugged into the USW Pro Max 16 will be:

  • Aurora 16 AD/DA (Dante) (outboard 19" rack)
  • RME HDSPe AoX-D (Dante) (PCIe card)
  • iConnectivity MioXL (rtpMIDI)
  • And then obviously, All of this is being funnelled over the USW Pro Max 16 into the computers 2.5g port.
Not expecting free training here... but I'd certainly welcome any and all tips, and just a general list of areas of the computers OS/Setup I will have to look at for example, 'Opening Ports', if there are specific diagnostic tools I need, etc

What are you using as the controller? Is it an actual UN product or software on a laptop for instance?

EDIT: Did you install app on phone also? I think it uses Bluetooth to locate during adoption. I may be wrong on that though. Install the USIP as well as the Unifi apps.
