I have one informally adopted kid and one biological kid. I've been raising the first one since shortly after she turned three, and she's nine now. Couldn't love her more if she was my own, and I've got one I did father so I have a comparison :p

I think the related = love stuff is garbage. Just because you are related to someone doesn't mean you love them. There are some relatives that you just don't and shouldn't love. Basically family love is a myth and a sham. Suppose you met a complete stranger to whom you have no sexual attraction you wouldn't instantly fall in love with that person. Now suppose that person was unknowingly a long lost relative. Will time suddenly go backwards and would you now have fallen in love with the person upon the first meeting? No.

I think that says what I think about your adoption comment.

IMHO, as long as the kid is cute/adorable, it can be loved. If it looks like a nasty pig, parents may have a hard time loving it regardless of it's origins.

If you're one of the three people who have hit "no", then I pity your existence. Maybe it's self-loathing or some troubled past that clouds your view of humanity.

There's no difference. I certainly can't imagine loving anyone more than my daughter, and we've only had her for less than two months.

I don't know, this is a hard one. I obviously have no experience in the matter, but I think if the child grew up to be a troubled teen, I would keep thinking how much of it is because of his gens (i.e. biological parents).
