Adobe programmer says AppleSucks

Eug

Lifer
So it seems some code in Adobe Acrobat 5 for Mac OS X is going to get some programmer in trouble:

[EugiBook:~] eug% strings /Applications/Acrobat\ Reader\ 5.0/Contents/MacOS/Acrobat\ Reader\ 5.0 | grep Sucks
%CantUseURLAccessOn86BecauseAppleSucks
#$$$avURLAccessVersBecauseAppleSucks :Q

Here is the original thread.

Did you have to do that when I had a mouth full of water? 😀

Ya think maybe that programmer was on to something?

Its funny... most people still say to me.. "you mean, you DON'T use a mac for graphics design??!"

They lost the edge a little while ago, funny stuff.

haha.. pretty much.

We just got trained on OSX at work, btw. Interesting operating system.. but the GUI has to drain more resources than XP's. It seemed to be really labour intensive on the imac at least. Oh well, as far as macs go, this is a much more functional operating system and much improved.

The GUI will run mostly in hardware if your machine has a video card that supports it. Are you using one of the new Imacs, or an old one? I could definitely see it being slow on the old one. (I'm assuming you're using 10.2. If you're not, you should be)

I'm pretty sure it was an older Imac, but it was running 10.2...
It also had 9.x on the drive, but if i understand correctly, 9 is purposely left on for the rollback feature?
