Hi, I'm trying to figure this new program out.

When I click the vertical cursor at the bottom I expect the video in the upper right box to play the part I'm clicking on.........but it just keeps on going with whatever it was on. If I start it up from scratch and play, it will play. But if I hit stop, and then move the cursor back, hit play again, the video keeps playing where it was.

Maybe my PC is underpowered? but its a 3gig cpu, 1 gig ram........... and the clip I'm working with is 1 gig.

I'm thinking the problem is the file is too big and/or my computer is too slow... but what do I need?

Thanks

I'm not quite understanding what the problem is. First of all, the "vertical cursor" you speak of, are you talking of the blue tab with the red line in the timeline that indicates the current spot of your edit-in-progress movie? If that is what you're talking about, when I move that "cursor", the video on the right in the Monitor windows (the video after editing) moves as I move the "cursor". I have no issues with moving the "cursor" then hitting play below the video, and it play from where I wanted.

EDIT: Also, your comp seems fine for editing the video. Also, make sure you're using a default workspace. Some workspaces only allow for one video in the Monitor window instead of the default 2 (one for current raw footage you are cutting up on the left, and one for your post-edited video on the right).

Yes, I'm talking about the red line.

Sometimes when I drag it back and forth the clock changes in the upper right window... sometimes it doesnt (or its incredibly slow)

Eventually the top right window goes black and I can't get anything to show on it.
