Article only says Flash for mobile devices, by which I presume they mean just phones not laptops. I see no hint of them abandoning Flash for desktop software in there.

Correct. There are comments in the article stating the end of flash, however the article only mentions that the mobile flash is going away. I can't imagine desktop flash going away too quickly, since so many sites still use it, and it's going to be tough to get everyone to update their browsers just to view your website.

I for one will not miss it. My pc just yesterday, did an update to Adobe Shockwave Flash and after it was done, I went to the Adobe site and it says I am on the latest version. This morning I go the Dallas Morning New puzzles page. Went to the jigsaw and it needed to reload the Adobe plugins (Firefox 8) before the puzzle would load (puzzle hosted by Uclick) .. another check with Adobe shows the same version as before it did this
FYI: You should be on version 11.6.3.633 as this is the latest Shockwave Flash released

Shockwave is a different player than flash, but that brings up a good point, I wonder if flash goes away if shockwave will as well.

He refused to support it on the iPhone and initiated it's demise. Every Apple hater here praised having flash on their non-iPhone smart phones including yourself.

Google and Microsoft finally joined Apple in pushing HTML5 over Flash. So, what's your whining about?

I am not an apple hater. I used to have a Macbook(3 years) and I owned an iPod that I gave it to my brother. I regret to have bought a Macbook because I was stupid with my finances.. I was pretty happy with the product itself.

I hate flash and adobe PDF suite with a passion.

You are on a hyperbole here. So, when I say Steve Jobs does not deserve full credit for Adobe's decision to stop making a flash plugin for mobile devices = Apple hater?

Mobile flash is not going away, they are just ending their development for mobile browsers. They will still develop flash for mobiles.. mostly stand alone apps. They still have Adobe Air.

My mistake, I meant mobile browser flash vs. desktop browser flash.

I hope this marks the start to the down fall of Adobe

why? your saint never would have been successful where it not for Adobe so early being associated with the Mac. It was the only software that made those machines somewhat useful.

But yeah, Flash has got to go.

I already explained why...

50/50 that Adobe decided this months ago but waited until Steve died so they didn't give him the satisfaction of hearing about it.

Just read that Adobe will be cutting about 750 jobs.

7% of the workforce.

Every time I restart my PC machines I have to reinstall Adobe flash, agree, make 1/2 a dozen clicks. I'm pretty sick of Adobe.
