Adobe Flash all of a sudden freezes my computer when used in FF 13 (edit: And IE)

Edit: Apparently flash is freezing my comp when I run it in IE as well. So I guess flash in general is messed up on my comp.

So today, any time I run firefox 13 and navigate to a page with flash on it, my computer will slow to a crawl, and nothing will respond. The only answer has been a hard reset. Even if I try to close the process via task manager (which takes minutes to load during this crawl), my system is still bogged down and unresponsive.

I've done the following:

-uninstall/reinstall firefox
-uninstall/reinstall latest flash drivers (11.3.300.257)
-installed previous flash version (same problem)
-Updated my vid card drivers to latest (ATI 12.4)

If I disable the flash in my add-ons, everything is fine.

I haven't done or changed anything to my system that I can think of. It was working find this morning, but when I got home from work the problem started happening.

My specs are:

Win 7 64 bit ultimate
Intel i7 930
12GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5850

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you do a Google search you will see this is a widespread problem stemming from the newest Flash update (11.3.300.257). Supposedly Adobe is working on it...no word on when a fix will be available.

Yeah saw a bunch of threads on it, but my problem seems different.

On my work laptop and home laptop, I have the latest flash 11.3.300.257 and it works normally on firefox 13 (or any browser for that matter).

But on my home computer, it doesn't just crash flash videos, my entire computer locks up/slows to a crawl, to the point where nothing responds.

Even previous versions of flash cause the same problems which makes me believe something is wrong w/ my computer. I might just have to do a reformat.
