Thanks pal. You're saying that I, as an 18 year old, am supposed to be able to afford a full featured version of Photoshop X?
Gee, you're so right. Maybe I should give up my dream job and go clean toilets.

Because we all know you can't be in the field unless you're legit.. llama...

Oh yes "llama", I bet that will look great on your resume:

"My graphical portfolio was made with a warezed version of Photoshop because I'm too cheap to pay for it"

actually he just recently moved

he was living in a van down by the river
ha...ROTFLMAO

and since this thread has moved from the BS vs not BS Adobe issue TO the i luv zone alarm vs. it sux issue....i would like to add that i did use zone alarm religiously when i first got a cable connection until i tried to modify an option and was locked out of my own copy....it was as if i had loaded up a copy of Backorfice (how many of u ol' schoolers remember this fun little proggy?!) on my comp...for about a month i was bewildered why zonealarm would suddenly freak out after an undisclosed period of time and unlock all of my ports to the public!...although the hacker never did anything truly decremental to my PC, he did quite a bit of playing around by using ZA as his connection tool...i tried my best to trace him but ended up reformatting my PC just in case and using a router w/ built-in firewall to solve my problem...so Beware of ZA haX0rs :|

and for the record - dont be to worried if you are using a 'illegitamate' version of Adobe, because if your not making a profit off of someone elses work then youre really not worth going after anyway...but if you are making a few thou. with your Photoshop skillz then why wouldn't Adobe feel entitled to reclaim whats theirs....you may have earned it but you certainly aren't entitled to it...legally that is...

Something like this happened with "WinProxy" a few years ago. If you tried entering a warezed serial number, it would say something like "Thank you for registering WinProxy! Your IP address has been forwarded to the FBI and BSAfor further investigation"...so far nothing has happened :p

Get your head out of your @ss, Adobe, and the rest of the world, doesnt owe you anything.

All my copies of Photoshop are legit so I dont have anything to worry about, but I am curious as to whether this is true or not (I think it's BS)

The first lic. I have of Photoshop I didnt pay a dime for, the company I work for paid for it. Based upon Photoshop's licencing I can legally take it home and install it there too.

If your in the field and you use photoshop for work than your work will buy it for you and you get to use it without any money out of your own pocket, so quit your bitching.

As I said before, if you are pirating copies of PS, then it prolly has already been cracked or has a crack to deactivate the phone home deal.

Yeah.. maybe not.. but you know what does look good on a resume? The ability and skills I've acquired by being able to learn photoshop before going to a post secondary situation. And you show me an average 15 year old (i'm 18, started @ 15) that can afford a full fleged version of PS.

Get real.
If I am ever doing this type of work for a living.. more than an ambitous hobby.. than I'll buy it.. but otherwise.. sorry.

Mmmm.. last I checked freelancers don't have "higher-ups" to buy this kind of software for em.

I think this is true because I heard the FBI agents who were just reassigned positions from the drug enforcement departments to the new Homeland Security areas, all got notices this morning that they've been re-reassigned to the new "Protect Adobe's Profits - Its a National Priority" department.

Photoshop Elements (street price = ~$50) should be good enough...

Another reason why you need a firewall that monitors upstream packets.

Guess what, I would be willing to be you any amount of money that you, Phuz, would be singing a totally different tune if it was your company that you had started that was getting ripped off. Only to be told by someone..."I don't want to pay but I want to play, sorry..."
