Whenever I drink, I make sure that I'm either spending the night or someone else is taking me home. I've never driven while under the influence.

I smoke bowls and drive, but no drinking and driving. Never and never will. I'm too uncontrollable as it is when I drank.

Hmm, 55% yes to 45% no... well I've always said that that the majority of people in any given population are idiots, thanks for proving me right.

Well, maybe the whole world will get lucky and one of those drunk drivers will run your pompous ass over.

Yes, and got caught (long story, not gonna tell it here), lost my lisence and had to pay.
Was 18 when it happened and my father told me.
"Im not gonna punish you any further, beacuse by judging how you look I think your own conscience have done that enough"

I often have a glass or two of wine or a couple of beers with dinner and then drive home. I don't think that should count though, but I guess people who don't drink at all would probably disagree ;). As for being drunk and driving, only a couple of times in my 29 years, and only in cases where I KNEW there wouldn't be anyone else on the road.

<< Never driven a boat sober >>

Lol, while I have driven one sober quite a few times, that is quite possibly the most fun place to drink. PWC are even better though.

<< <rant> for all you idiots out there that think that lite beer has a different alchol content than a normal beer (say mgd lite and mgd) you are so wrong, and should be beat across the head with a 2x4 for thinking that </rant> >>

Did I miss something or are you joking? Of course lite beer has less alcohol per volume. Nobody would really try and dispute this.

Whoever said that their designated driver only drinks lite beer, however, please run your head into a wall. Maybe when you wake up your head will work properly!

<< never had a dui and never had an accident because of drinking either >>

Whoa, aren't you the hero. I frequently steal items from corner stores and I've never been caught yet. I must be doing something right! I smoke 10 packs of cigs a day and I'm still not dead. Who said that they can kill you? By your logic it should be ok for me to get stupidly plastered and take part in street races through school zones, because until i get in an accident for it or caught for DUI it's ok. This is the impression your statement gave off.

Yes i admit it when i was much younger and still knew everything;). I no longer drink anymore so i would estimate i haven't done it in close to 15 yrs. Upon reflection I did some pretty stupid things back then for someone who was certain he knew everything.

Right <now> the poll is saying 44% of you haven't ever drank and drove.

To me, that can only mean one thing, a very young crowd.

I'm kinda glad the 'net wasn't evolved when i was young(er), i would've missed out on a LOT of living.

I think there should be an option saying "Yes, I drank and drove, BUT I was NOT drunk." Since there are only two choice, I had to vote for Yes, even though I was not drunk.

If "drank and drive" means "drove a car while not being completely stone sober", then a lot of people are lying about not ever doing it (of course, there are a lot of underage peeps here). Who the heck hasn't drank a beer at a friend's house and then drove home in their own car? Drank some wine at a restaurant and subsequently drove home? It's normal. It's OK. The problem is that we've made everything so polarized...so prohibitionist. It is legal and socially acceptable to have a BAC above 0.00% and drive a car. There's a reason why the legal limit is 0.08/0.10, not 0.00.

The thread's question really translates to: have you ever been above the limit and drove? And the true answer is unknown for some because we don't have little LED readouts on our bodies that reveal our spontaneous BAC level.

The problem with the BAL legal limit of 0.08 is that it's too low. After two glasses of wine, depending on your body weight, you will probably register around .08. I know, because that's what I registered after two glasses of wine with dinner. The cop did a field sobriety test, which I easily passed, and let me go home (I was stopped for a broken tail light).

For those of you wondering why I was tested in the first place, I was stupid enough to take a half-full bottle of wine back home with me and had it laying in the back seat...
